Surgical Services

Doylestown Hospital offers a wide range of sophisticated surgical services including cardiac, orthopedic, plastic, reconstructive, oncologic, urologic and ophthalmologic procedures. Nine operating rooms are equipped for the most specialized surgical procedures including advanced thoracic procedures to correct congenital and acquired heart and lung conditions, aortic aneurysm repairs, major joint replacement surgery to replace arthritic knees, hips or shoulders and multidisciplinary approaches to all surgical cancer therapies.
Advanced imaging technology supports a full range of minimally invasive surgical procedures including laparoscopic, stereotactic, laser, and microsurgical techniques. Video technology allows surgeons to operate without making a large incision. Tiny video cameras provide full-color, magnified images of the patients' internal organs. With laparoscopy and thoracoscopy surgeons can perform gall bladder removal, hysterectomies, appendectomies, anti-reflux procedures, repair hernias, and biopsy tumors. Surgeons use advanced anesthesia protocols for pain management and work through tiny puncture wounds to minimize scarring, maximize patient comfort and shorten recovery time.
Over sixty-five percent of all surgical procedures at Doylestown Hospital are performed on an outpatient basis. The Same Day Surgery Unit is located on the second floor of the hospital's Main Wing.
Our Admission Morning of Surgery (AMOS) program is located in the Same Day Surgery Unit. This program helps to shorten time away from home by allowing patients who require hospitalization after their surgery to arrive at the hospital on the day of the surgery, then be admitted after the procedure.
Many types of outpatient surgery are also performed at the Doylestown Surgery Center, Suite 1400, in the Health and Wellness Center in Warrington. This state-of-the-art facility is owned and operated by Doylestown Hospital in association with some of our physicians. Your surgeon will help determine which location - hospital or Wellness Center - is most appropriate for your procedure.

For your convenience, a lobby is located immediately outside of Same Day Surgery. The lobby contains comfortable furniture and artwork which celebrates Bucks County and the history of Doylestown Hospital.
