Doylestown Hospital and Temple Announce agreement
for Cardiothoracic surgery.
A leading Temple faculty cardiothoracic surgeon has joined The Heart Institute of Doylestown Hospital, enhancing a program that is already among the top 10 percent in the nation.
James B. McClurken, MD, will divide his time between Temple and The Heart Institute of Doylestown Hospital, where he will provide supplemental surgical support to help meet a growing need for quality cardiothoracic surgical services in the community. Dr. McClurken is Professor and Vice Chair of the Department of Surgery at Temple University School of Medicine and Director of Perioperative Services for Cardiothoracic Surgery at Temple University Hospital.
Doylestown Hospital is ranked among the top 10 percent in the nation by HealthGrades?, a national healthcare rating organization, and The Society of Thoracic Surgeons.

Dr. McClurken is a recognized leader in cardiothoracic surgery – both as an educator and service provider. He directs quality assurance improvement in the field, and has experience with a variety of artificial heart and ventricular assist devices. In addition, he has been published in a number of professional journals, including The Annals of Thoracic Surgery, The Journal of Heart And Lung Transplant, and The Journal of Thoracic Cardiovascular Surgery.
