Electrophysiology Lab

Electrophysiology is the branch of cardiology dealing with electrical impulses, or the rhythms of your heart. If you have an abnormal heart rhythm, (an arrhythmia), your heart rate is abnormally fast, slow or even irregular.
Electrophysiology studies, or EPS, use cardiac catheterization techniques to study patients with irregular heartbeats.
The Heart Institute of Doylestown Hospital's two fully equipped EP labs allow our electrophysiologists to treat a wide spectrum of arrhythmia patients. EP studies are accurate and safe ways of mapping the heart's electrical system and identifying the pathways that are not functioning properly.
